20th Anniversary for Poppleton Dental Practice

On Wednesday the 28th of June, we celebrated our 20th anniversary at the practice.  It was a great but tiring day full of fun.  

In the morning we invited the Poppleton Ousebank Reception classes down to visit our practice for some party fun.  60 children and their teachers and adults joined us in the miserable rain and had a whale of a time.  

They all brought birthday cards for us and the best one was chosen for a prize.  They all had a talk in the surgery and a ride in Rebecca's big dentist chair.  We also looked at how much sugar was in drinks and played pass the parcel and pin the gold tooth on the pirate too.  To celebrate we had snacks of cheese and apple before giving each child a goodie bag to take away with them. 

In the afternoon we had an open day and had food and drinks available for all guests. We also had the most fabulous cake which was shared out to everyone who visited. We continued the party theme with a bran tub and also a raffle.  We had been selling raffle tickets running up to the event and had some fantastic prizes donated by local business, all to raise money for Macmillian and Dentaid. 

To finish the day off Rebecca braved the weather and wet sponges which people paid to throw at her in our final "Drench the Dentist" game outside! (See our facebook page for video evidence!) 

We had such a wonderful day and made over £300 pounds for charity.  A big Thank you to everyone who came and bought tickets and helped out.
